Department of Radio Imaging Technology under Faculty of Allied Sciences (FAHS) with Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) organized a CME & Workshop on 8th & 9th of March, 2019 on the topic “Radiation & Biomedical Waste Hazard with Hands on Training on Quality Control Tools in Radiological Practice”. The guest speakers Dr Pankaj Tandon (Head, IATS, AERB Mumbai) and Dr. Rakesh Kumar Mahajan (Professor & Consultant RML Hospital, PGIMER) were invited for the CME. As the CME & Workshop was organized on the occasion of women’s day entire administrative work & challenges were accepted by the female faculties and students of Radio Imaging Technology to represent women’s empowerment. Few names are Dr. Neeru Kapur (faculty), Ms. Komal Priya (faculty), Kajal, Vibha, Laxmi, Ritika Rai, Ayushi Saxena, Kritika, Manisha, Diksha, Ayushi, Monika, Andleeb, Sehrish, Aarzoo, Dheeraj & Jerusalem Programme started with the lightening of the lamp by all the dignitaries: Dr. Kamlesh Kohli (Director, FMHS), Dr. V. K. Govila (Dean, FAHS), Dr. N C Arora (Medical Superintendent, SGT Hospital), Dr. Pankaj Tandon, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Mahajan & Dr. B. B Sharma (HOD Dept of Radio diagnosis).
First of all, the guest speakers were welcomed by presenting a sapling by Dr Kamlesh Kohli and Dr. N C Arora. Further, Dr B. B. Sharma talked about the women’s empowerment and the importance of CME. Dr. Kamlesh Kohli enlightened the students with her words of wisdom.
International & National Delegates attended the CME & Workshop.
Dr. Pankaj Tandon shared his views on Radiation Safety & Regulatory Requirements in Practicing Diagnostic Radiology which made a great impact on all the delegates and Dr. RK Mahajan spoke on Biomedical Waste in Radiological department and its disposal. Also Dr. Ritu Dhaka threw a light on Radiation Hazards & Protective Measures.
After the CME a quiz session was organized for all the students conducted by
Ms Komal Priya (faculty), Ms Kajal & Miss Suzzain.

2nd Ranker- Mr. Manish (MRIT 1st Year, Shubharti University)
3rd Ranker-Mr. Raman (BRIT 2nd Year, SGT University)
CME & Workshop was organized by the Organizing Chairman Mr. Nitish Virmani, Organizing Secretary Dr. Neeru Kapur & Co- Organizing Secretary Mr. Arshad Alam Khan. The Delegates who attended the CME & Workshop found it very beneficial for their future.
