A visit for BRIT 2nd year, MRIT 1st Year, and BOTT 1st, 2nd & 3rd year students of Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, SGT University was arranged to Park Hospital Gurugram on 11.04.2019. The main objective behind the visit was to expose the students to various types of equipment’s in the field of Radio-Imaging Technology, and Operation Theatre making them aware of knowing different procedures and Equipment’s. The students were accompanied by faculty members:
Mr Nitish Virmani, Mr Sumit & Miss Komal Priya.
BRIT & MRIT students were introduced to Radiology department in the hospital including 0.3 T Hitachi MRI machine along with 16 slices GE CT scanner, Portable Digital Radiography, Conventional Radiography x-ray equipment of Allengers & one mobile Ultrasonography machine of Medicine. Students were also explained about the advantages of open MRI for claustrophobic and fat patients. Radiographers were very supportive in explaining and answering the queries of all students.
BOTT students of 2nd and 3rd Year were exposed to various Operation Theatres, ICCU, SICU, and CSSD. They also learnt about the maintenance of OT environment and maintaining procedures for Non Expendable items. Students also observed the Cardiac OT and Cath Labs.
The students expressed that it was a very beneficial and learning experience for them. Students have wished for similar visits in future.
