Department of Medical laboratory technology , Faculty of Allied Heath Sciences organized a Extramural student training on 4th February in one of the most renowned hospital, Paras hospital, Gurugram. The students were accompanied by 2 faculty members Ms. Suchandra and Ms. Sweta. The aim of this trip was to educate and acquaint the students the latest technological advances in laboratory techniques
Students were given some basic information regarding the establishment and infrastructure of hospital, followed by an interactive session with the students in which various scopes of laboratory technicians were discussed. Students visited ‘Central laboratory’ where they initially learnt about basic procedures of sample collection followed by visit in different sections like Microbiology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Serology where they were explained about newer methodologies and instrument handling. Students interacted with officials and understood the detailed working. It was a real learning experience, observing newer technologies and instruments. It was an interesting and informative visit for the students.
