Department of Medical laboratory technology and Neuro physiology technology, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences organized a hospital visit on 10th April in one of the most renowned hospitals, Max Super speciality hospital, Saket, New Delhi. The students were accompanied by 3 faculty members, Ms. Suchandra, Ms. Rashmi and Ms. Bhawana. MLT students visited ‘Central laboratory’ where they were taught about basic procedures of sample collection followed by visit in different sections like Microbiology, Biochemistry, Histopathology, Clinical Pathology, Serology. Further, they were explained about newer methodologies and instrument handling.
Students of NPT visited Neuro lab and were accompained by Mr. Vijay Kumar and Mr. D S Rawat (Neuro Technologist). The students were exposed to EEG lab, NCV lab. Students learnt about Intra Operative Neuro Monitoring procedure and new inventions in Neuro Physiology. They were also explained about the duty of a Neuro Technologist and explained future prospects in Neuro Physiology Technology. Students observed the working of machines, each part of the machine was explained properly and Disorders such as Epilepsy, Neuropathy were discussed. It was a good learning and informative experience, observing newer technologies and instruments.
