On the occasion of National Nutrition Week 2018, a visit for the B. Sc. and M.Sc. students of Nutrition and Dietetics was organized to B. L. Kapoor Hospital, New Delhi, on 04.09.2018. The main objective behind the visit was to explore the students to various aspects of Nutrition and Dietetics department in any multispecialty hospital and provide them practical exposure to various types of technology and procedures used in this field. The students were accompanied by Dr. Akanksha Yadav and Dr. Vatsala Saharan from S.G.T University. The students were introduced to the Nutrition and Dietetics department by senior dietitians of B. L. Kapoor hospital. She explained the various aspects of nutritional assessment, therapeutic diet planning, and record keeping procedures of hospital patients on computerized hospital portal. Students were introduced to the various wards of the hospital and exposed to modern equipment/instrument used in the dietetic department and kitchen. The students expressed that it was a very beneficial and learning experience for them. Students have wished for similar visits in the future.
