Mr. Md. Salman Sarkar comes from West Bengal, an eastern state in India. He completed his integrated master’s degree in Optometry and Vision Science from the University of Hyderabad in 2018 and was trained at L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad as a clinical intern during the tenure of his course. His career began as an academician in 2018 with ITM University, Gwalior as an assistant professor. He was invited to Indonesia to participate in a week-long eye care program by the Indonesian govt. in late 2018. In early 2019, he instructed clinical SOPs to the vision technicians at Alina Vision, Vietnam. Since the beginning of his academic career, he has been associated with multiple research projects and some of them are on the way for publication. One of his review articles on optical and mechanical aspects of low vision telescopes to enhance perception, cognition, mobility, and daily life of low vision patients was published in a peer-reviewed journal in 2020. His area of interest is vision science, binocular vision, glaucoma, low vision, and retina. Currently, Mr. Sarkar is associated with SGT University, Gurugram as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences.
