A two day induction programme was organised by the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences for the newly admitted students of all programmes under the faculty. The programme started with a welcome speech by the Dean of FAHS Dr. V. K. Govila. He motivated the new students along with briefing them about SGT University including its vision, mission & objectives and various faculties.
This was followed by an inspiring talk by our Pro Chancellor SGT University Dr. Sham Lal Singla. He welcomed the new students and shared his years of wisdom with them.
The students were then introduced formally to their respective faculty members followed by the introduction by the student which was hosted by Ms.Nikita. During the session the students introduced themselves to each other. This introduction session was followed by talk on Pedagogy, Synergy, Guest Lectures & Industrial Visits and Internship and Placements by Mr. Nitish Virmani. In the afternoon session, Dr. Govind Bhat stressed upon the “Role of nutrition and other health issues in the hostellers”, which was followed by Mentor mentee programmee and student skill profiling by Dr. Upasana Sarma. Finally the day ended with a session on extracurricular activities in the University by Ms. Suchandra Gupta.
Day 2 programme began on a positive note where Dr. Kamlesh Kohli, Director, Medical Sciences graced the podium and gave an insightful talk to the students. This was followed by a brief session on library facilities and a detailed session on ordinance and examinations by Ms. Kanishka Raheja.
An ice breaking session was then organised and hosted by Ms. Suchandra and Ms.Nikita where a lot of fun activities took place which the students enjoyed and were freely mixing with each other. The students were then taken on a visit around the campus by their batch in charges and facilities and classrooms were shown to all of them.
The post lunch session included talks by Dr. Sarju which was followed by brief session on university cultural committee and IT department. With this, 2 eventful and activity packed days came to a beautiful end.
