A guest talk was organized by the Department of Microbiology under the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences on 19th March 2019. The title of the talk was “Nanotechnology: Nanoscience having giant potential” which was delivered by a biotechnologist of repute Dr. Sapna Grewal of Department of Nanotechnology GJU, Hisar. The respected speaker was welcomed by Dr. Kamlesh Kohli, Director, Medical Sciences SGT University who presented her with a sapling on behalf of the University. The occasion was graced by Dr. Shyam Lal Singla (Pro-Chancellor SGT University) who presented the guest with a memento as a token of love and gratitude. He also shared a few words of wisdom with our students. Students of B.Sc Microbiology, B.Sc Medical lab technology as well as M.Sc nutrition and dietetics students were part of the audience who witnessed the talk.
The guest speaker gave an insight and informative description of the concept of Nanotechnology. She gave a historical perspective and went on to describe the use of nanoparticles in our daily lives. The talk concluded with a focus on what lies ahead in the future in the field of nanotechnology.
