Guest Lecture
On the occasion of National Nutrition Week, the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, SGT University organized a guest lecture on September 6, 2018, on the topic “Medical Nutrition Therapy for Pregnant & Lactating Women: Current IYCF Practices & Goals”. The objective of the programme was to provide students and other health professionals with an understanding of the role of nutrition during pregnancy and lactation. The lecture was delivered by Mrs. Vasundhara Singh, a reputed dietitian of AIIMS, New Delhi. The guest speaker was honored by presenting a sapling and memento by Dr. Govind Bhatt and Dr. Akansha Yadav, respectively as a token of love and gratitude. Mrs. Vasundhra stressed upon the importance of breastfeeding, its composition, advantage, and disadvantages. She shared her experience about how working women do not take care of the nutritional needs of their child in the modern era. She also emphasized on breastfeeding rather than complementary
POSTER COMPETITION
On the occasion of National Nutrition Week, a poster making competition was organized by the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, SGT University on September 6, 2018, at 10:00 A.M. The participants were from different departments of SGT University. The main objective of the event was to engross the hidden talent, knowledge, and creativity of the students. The students showed their abilities through art where they expressed their talent in the form of quotations, paintings, sketch etc. All the students participated and performed well in the competition.
