Guest Lecture on Food Preservation

The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences organized a Guest Lecture on Food Preservation on 18th April 2019. Dr. Sudesh Jood, Professor, CCS Haryana Agriculture University, India was the guest speaker. Dr Kamlesh Kohli, Director,Medical Sciences welcomed the guest by presenting the sapling. The speaker was then honored by presenting a memento by Dr. Sham Lal Singla, Pro-Chancellor SGT University along with Dr. V. K. Govila, Dean, FAHS. In the welcome address Dr. Sham Lal Singla shared his views about the food preservation and its scenario in the society. Dr. Sudesh Jood talked about the role of food preservation in our lives. She wonderfully began with the meaning of food preservation and different scientific principles used for preservation of different types of foods at household and industrial level. The talk was made interactive with students by incorporating quiz session. The lecture was very much informative and the students were immensely benefited by the talk.
