Dr Ashwani Kumar Ghai is working as Assist. Professor in the Deptt. Of Optometry in SGT University Gurugram. He is a senior eye surgeon with vast clinical experience of about 22 years and teaching experience of 17 years. He has been taking care of OPD patients as well as IPD patients suffering from different types of eye diseases since 1997 when he did his Masters degree in Ophthalmology from Pt BD Sharma PGIMS Rohtak Haryana. He has done more than 10,000 surgeries on patients suffering from Cataract, Glaucoma, Squint, Entropion, Congenital Dacryocystitis etc. He has been associated with a number of reputed hospitals like Apollo group of Hospitals, Sunder Lal Jain Hospital Ashok Vihar Delhi, NKS Hospital Gulabi bagh Delhi, Mojiram Lions Eye Hospital Delhi and many more.
He has been teaching students of Optometry in Institute of Public health and Hygiene Mahipalpur Delhi from 2002 to 2015. He has been associated with Vinayak Mission University, Allahabad agricultural Institute- Deemed University, Indira Gandhi National Open University Delhi for teaching of optometry students.
He has authored a book for students of optometry “REFRACTION DISPENSING OPTICS AND OPHTHALMIC PROCEDURES” published by Jaypee Brothers in Dec 2014 and reprinted in 2017. He has been attending various National and International Conferences as Speaker and Moderator since the beginning of his carrier.
