What is Allied Health Science?
Allied Medical or allied health sciences courses represent a discipline that involves the study of disease transmission, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
Allied Health Practitioners are a distinct group of health professionals, other than doctors, who use their expertise to prevent, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate people of all ages and specialties from spreading diseases.

What jobs are available in Allied Health Science?

- X-ray Technician – X-ray technicians take internal x-rays of patients to facilitate physicians in the detection and diagnosis of illnesses, diseases, or injuries. - Surgical Technologist–You could describe their role as ‘preparing the stage’ for surgery. Also known as scrub techs. The role includes sterilizing the equipment and ensuring there are adequate supplies in the operating room before the surgery begins. You might also be asked to hand instruments during the surgery, as per the surgeon’s request.
- Medical Lab Technicians –The ‘samples’ that you give at a hospital? These are the people who collect, process and test these samples for any diseases or infections. A job that requires careful organization and sorting skills, along with the obvious medical know-how needed.
