On 7th May 2017, a visit for B. Sc. Optometry Interns was organized by SGT University Gurugram for attending a SWARN JAYNTI CME-CUM-WORKSHOP on Amblyopia & Low Vision Awareness and Management at Regional Institute of Ophthalmology Pt BD Sharma PGIMS Rohtak Haryana. Students were accompanied by Dr Ashwani Kumar Ghai Assistant Professor, Deptt. Of Ophthalmology, SGT University, Gurugram. The session started with a small theoretical discussion on “Binocular Vision: Tests & Management and Low Vision Aids-When to use and How to use?” Thereafter practical demonstration was done in four groups each having 15 delegates. Different types of low vision devices were demonstrated. A CME was conducted on “Amblyopia and Low Vision Management and Paralytic Strabismus Decoded”. Eminent speakers from Guru Nanak Eye Centre New Delhi and Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital New Delhi delivered the lectures. Students felt delighted after the practical demonstration as they were witnessing such kind of practical demonstration for the first time and also they got a chance to interact with optometrists of PGIMS Rohtak.
