SGT University provided a golden opportunity to the students of undergraduate and postgraduate to participate in an Awareness Programme on “Iron – Deficiency Anemia” organized by the department of Nutrition & Dietetics, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, and the event was coordinated by Dr. Jyoti Goyat, Assistant Professor under the guidance of Head of department Prof. Barkha Bhatnagar and the Dean Faculty of Allied Health Sciences Prof. M. Ejaz Hussain. It was conducted on 06th March at C-block Auditorium 3rd floor. More than 250 students and faculties were participated in the awareness drive.
Ms. Binu Bhatia, Senior Nutritionist, Steadfast Nutrition, Noida addressed the common issues faced by women due to Iron deficiency anaemia among different age groups. She briefed about the iron absorption, rich sources of iron and the recommended allowances for iron. A special selfie booth was also organized by Steadfast Nutrition where all the students and faculty members clicked pictures and distributed with freebies. The program ended with a good note and was very useful for everyone present there.
